THE LION & THE CROWN

The Lion and The Crown is a new English-style pub that recently opened its doors in Addison.  The new bar is located Addison Circle, a vibrant, yet semi-hidden area that houses apartment complexes and commercial spaces. Prior to The Lion and The Crown, Zen was the only other bar within walking distance of the apartments that surround Addison Circle.  A few other restaurants, one boutique and some small businesses make up for the rest of the area. Putting a pub in the mix makes for a pleasant change (Zen is popular but tends to turn into a club scene as the night wears on).
The bar opened about two weeks ago and at that time had no credit card machines yet, so bring cash in case.  Also, the menus were not printed out either so they featured a list of items on a chalk board at the entrance.  I had a BLT and it was delicious.  The drinks were fairly priced for Addison Circle (in my experience, this area tends to be more on the pricey side).  They offer a full bar and some beer on tap (both imported and domestic).  My glass of house chardonnay was $5 and full to the rim and my friend's hefeweizen beer was around $4.  We arrived after happy hour so the prices seem normal.
All in all, if you live in the area and want more of a laid-back, not over-crowded atmosphere to enjoy a drink with close friends, check out The Lion and The Crown.

KELLER'S DRIVE-IN

Keller's Drive-In has been serving burgers and beer to Dallas residents for years.  Whether you prefer one of their famous burgers or just a side of crunchy tots, this 50s-style diner is a casual, family friendly restaurant that’s easy on your wallet, but very filling.
Built in Keller's has two locations with the original in Lake Highlands (Northwest Hwy and Abrams to be exact) and the second on Harry Hines. Don't forget to bring cash as that's the only form of payment they take.  So drive-in and enjoy your dinner from the comfort of your own car.

Location 1:
6537 E. Northwest Hwy.,  Dallas, 214-368-1209

Location 2: Also, 10554 Harry Hines Blvd,  Dallas

MY TIME @ THREE SHEETS

We arrived around 11 pm, so just the right time to still find a table and order some drinks.  There were quite a few people there for its soft opening, which is always a good sign, and yet not too many people so we had to wait to order. The service was great, with servers coming around our table every 10 minutes or so and the prices weren’t too shabby either. Definitely cheaper than the typical Uptown bar.  The cozy atmosphere provided dim lighting  and lounge areas that would make a good place for intimate conversation. The covered patio might have been bigger than the entire inside and provided pool tables as well as picnic tables to seat many at a time. This Texas heat limited my time spent on the patio but come fall, it will make a great spot to enjoy with friends.
Located at Ross and 75, Three Sheets is easy to get to and out of the way of both the Uptown and Downtown traffic. You have to valet as the parking lot is tiny, but it’s only $5 (compared to Uptown bar’s sometimes outrageous $10, that’s a steal). I was also told they would soon be serving pizza and the brick oven behind the bar is a sign this is probably a legit fact. Overall, Three Sheets impressed me, and I look forward to hearing more about it in the future.
