THE LION & THE CROWN

The Lion and The Crown is a new English-style pub that recently opened its doors in Addison.  The new bar is located Addison Circle, a vibrant, yet semi-hidden area that houses apartment complexes and commercial spaces. Prior to The Lion and The Crown, Zen was the only other bar within walking distance of the apartments that surround Addison Circle.  A few other restaurants, one boutique and some small businesses make up for the rest of the area. Putting a pub in the mix makes for a pleasant change (Zen is popular but tends to turn into a club scene as the night wears on).
The bar opened about two weeks ago and at that time had no credit card machines yet, so bring cash in case.  Also, the menus were not printed out either so they featured a list of items on a chalk board at the entrance.  I had a BLT and it was delicious.  The drinks were fairly priced for Addison Circle (in my experience, this area tends to be more on the pricey side).  They offer a full bar and some beer on tap (both imported and domestic).  My glass of house chardonnay was $5 and full to the rim and my friend's hefeweizen beer was around $4.  We arrived after happy hour so the prices seem normal.
All in all, if you live in the area and want more of a laid-back, not over-crowded atmosphere to enjoy a drink with close friends, check out The Lion and The Crown.
